Affiliate Disclosure
What Is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is an arrangement where a website earns a commission by referring customers to a merchant. When you click an affiliate link on FIXSTACK and complete a qualifying purchase, the merchant pays us a referral fee. The price you pay is identical to what you'd pay going directly to the vendor — often exactly the same URL, just tracked.
Our Affiliate Relationships
FIXSTACK participates in affiliate programs for many of the software tools we review and recommend. These include (but are not limited to) programs run by individual software companies as well as broader affiliate networks. We do not list every program publicly as these partnerships change over time.
You can generally assume that any link to a paid software product on FIXSTACK may be an affiliate link unless otherwise noted.
How This Affects Our Content — Our Editorial Policy
This is the part that matters most: affiliate relationships do not determine our ratings, rankings, or recommendations.
Our editorial process works like this:
- We test tools independently over a minimum of three to four weeks in real workflows
- Ratings are determined by our testing methodology — not by commission rates
- We recommend tools we would use ourselves, regardless of whether an affiliate program exists
- We include tools with no affiliate relationship when they are the best option for a use case
- We publish honest cons and criticisms for every tool we cover, including affiliate partners
- No vendor can pay to improve their rating or ranking on FIXSTACK
We built FIXSTACK on the premise that reader trust is more valuable than any individual commission. If we recommend tools that don't perform, you stop trusting us — and the site becomes worthless. Our business depends on giving you accurate, honest information.
FTC Compliance
In accordance with the US Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, we disclose our affiliate relationships clearly. This disclosure appears in the footer of all content pages on FIXSTACK. The presence of affiliate links in our content always means we may earn a commission — we never obscure this relationship.
How We Make Money
FIXSTACK is primarily funded by affiliate commissions. We do not accept:
- Payment for positive reviews or higher ratings
- Sponsored placement in "best of" rankings
- Display advertising from software vendors
- Paid editorial content presented as organic recommendations
We may occasionally accept sponsored content that is clearly labeled as such, separate from our editorial reviews and rankings.
